My son, Marcus and I participated in Music Together for two years, beginning when he was two years old. It was a wonderful way to nurture his language development and I look back at our time in the program with fondness. I truly enjoyed the closeness that Marcus and I were able to experience while listening to and singing songs as he sat on my lap. Watching him dance, play instruments and discover his love for music was a joy. The music CD’s that were included in each session are now a soundtrack for Marcus’ early years. We loved singing to the many wonderful songs not only in our classes but at home and in the car as well.

"I have music in my head every day!" Just a few days ago my five year old daughter said these words. For three years my two daughters and I have taken Music Together classes with Susan Cramer, and music has become a part of who they are. Music surrounds our children every day at the Children's Center, learning the alphabet, singing while cleaning up or before eating meals, dancing during parties, and listening to music while working on projects. Music provides a means to express their feelings when they might not otherwise use words to tell us, and music can guide their emotions, giving comfort if they're sad or encouraging calmness when they're excited. Susan's Music Together classes have provided a way to connect with my children through music. The rhythms and notes in the songs lend themselves to adaptation and creativity, and we've used them to encourage potty training, getting dressed, and picking up toys, all while having fun! I am so glad we've taken these classes. My girls and I look forward to Music Together every week!

I didn't expect the added bonus of the friends we would make by participating in Music Together. Seeing the same families regularly and practicing everyone's name every week, having the shared experience of being "silly" together and laughing as a group at the things that happen during class: all of these things make us feel like we are part of something special, like we are getting together with friends every week.

My whole family has been enriched through participation in Music Together. It is such a fun way for young children to experience music. The program is very developmentally appropriate for young children, letting them hear, move, and make music throughout each session. But, it's also fun for parents to have a role in experiencing the music WITH their children. My boys loved the class and carried that love back home as they sang and danced through their day. As parents, we were amazed how expressive and creative the boys became through the music. I highly recommend Music Together for all families! 

Our family has always incorporated music into our daily routine, so attending a Music Together demonstration 3 years ago seemed like something we'd enjoy. I had no idea the effect that those 45 minutes would have on our family. I remember leaving the demo thinking, "We can't NOT go!" So, I started attending Music Together with my then 2 year old, Will. Since then, our family has gathered more wonderful, warm memories, bedtime lullabies, and giggling, fun songs that I ever could have imagined. I believe that this time each week together to sing, dance and cuddle together has enhanced the love of music and being together that is already so important to our family. We've met life-long friends through Music Together, many times we have to schedule extra play times just so we can see everyone again. I see Will being braver and more confident, as every suggestion and idea that he brings to Music Together is viewed as an important and special one. I see him being creative with songs and sounds that he hears in his every day life. I even see him entertaining himself by pounding out rhythms and repeating rhythmic patterns. It's so fun to watch! Not to mention that our amazing collection of Music Together CDS has saved us on many long car trips! This is and will forever be etched in my memory and heart as one of the most special times that Will and I have spent together in his childhood. I'm hoping and praying it will be etched in his as well.

Music Together has been a great opportunity for my children and I to share music and play together. I enjoy seeing the spark in their eyes when they “get” the music, and I can see how much they are developing musically. We love Music Together night and seeing all of our friends!
